CHJA Source Water Protection received $1,000.00 grant from Water Resources Education Network (WREN). This grant allowed
CHJA to send informative brochures to over 5,700 customers in the service area. It also enabled CHJA to provide Advanced Hydrogeology Kits
to 5th graders in the Hopewell Area School District. This will allow them to perform their own water activities in the classroom.
CHJA began class and group presentations using an Enviroscape Model. The presentation was given to 5th graders of Hopewell Area
School District and Cub Scouts and their parents of Pack #405 Ambridge, PA. We all live in a watershed with water
pollution comes from many sources. Nonpoint sources contribute a great deal to the pollution in our water bodies.
The combined affect of pollution from many small sources can have a real impact on the quality of our shared
CHJA plans to continue educating the public on Source Water Protection. Future plans of facility tours, presentations, and other
projects are in the works!
